After Two Years of Building a High-Quality Finance Team, Company Leader Receives Recognition for High Performance with CFO Promotion
FullSpeed Automotive, one of the nation’s largest franchisors and operators of automotive aftermarket repair facilities, home to flagship brands Grease Monkey®, SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service®, and Kwik Kar®, recently promoted Jim Boswell to Chief Financial Officer of FullSpeed Automotive®.
Boswell began with FullSpeed as Vice President of Finance in 2021. Since then, he has been instrumental in building a high-quality finance team tailored to support the fast-paced demands of the brand. Notably, he built out a highly impactful Financial Planning and Analysis team and launched the brand’s Business Intelligence function. After superb performance, Boswell was named interim CFO in December 2022. He has since continued to elevate the finance and accounting function, ensuring alignment with the broader strategic goals of FullSpeed, making him the ideal candidate for a permanent CFO position.
“The last couple years with the FullSpeed team has been extremely rewarding,” said Boswell. “I’ve enjoyed my time with the brand and have learned so much. I’m excited to continue to support the company as the brand makes an impact and continues to expand across the country.”
Before joining FullSpeed Automotive, Boswell worked as CFO for Streamline Brands for two years, doubling the company’s EBITDA, professionalizing the accounting department, and installing an ERP system during that time. He also worked at Marco’s Pizza for seven years, building a finance and business intelligence function, helping the company to profitably grow from 250 to 950 units in a primarily franchised system. Prior to those roles, he held a series of finance positions at Darden Restaurants over four years, concluding with a role in Corporate Planning and Analysis.
“Jim’s extensive background has not gone unnoticed. I’ve had the privilege of working with him directly this past year, and have been impressed by his growth and contributions to the brand,” said Rob Lynch, Chief Executive Officer of FullSpeed Automotive. “He has generated meaningful savings, optimized cash flows, and forged solid relationships between accounting and finance while providing incisive support to multiple functional groups, demonstrating himself as an asset to FullSpeed. I am confident that our financial trajectory is set for unprecedented growth under his leadership.”
Now boasting more than 900 company, franchised, and licensed units, FullSpeed aims to achieve its growth goal of 1,000 units by the end of 2024. FullSpeed Automotive is looking to bring on qualified and engaged individuals seeking single, multi-unit, and conversion opportunities.
When franchisees invest with FullSpeed Automotive brands, they’re investing in an organization with a strong culture, solid systems, and proven business models backed with a combined 70+ years of experience in providing quality car care in the industry. FullSpeed Automotive’s acquisition strategy has also played a key role in nationwide expansion and remains a strong business focal point for growth.
